3.1 Try to use medium with good surface cleanliness and flatness
The printing media itself may contain, or may introduce contaminants from the outside, which may scratch or embed in the protective film of the print head as it passes through the bar code printer. Once the protective film is destroyed, the heating element of the print head is no longer effective! If the failure occurs early or randomly due to scratch of the heating element of the print head, it is likely to be due to contaminants on the medium or in the working environment.

3.1.1 Label media Requirements: There are no foreign matters on the label surface (dust attached during die-cutting, waste discharge edge dropped during die-cutting), and no glue overflow on the label die-cutting edge.
3.1.2 use tags medium requirements: tags all through hole (without the paper scraps adhere to the hole or attached on the surface tags), in the relatively flat (because of the branch hole drill hole for technical reasons, cause the hole is not smooth), drop of tear line between zhang and zhang from the back to the surface (surface is smooth, so sawtooth appears at the back).
3.2 Try to use it in a clean place

If the environment really cannot be improved, a protective cover can be added to the periphery of the printer. Try to clean the print head and roll shaft properly before each printing. And when printing, cover the media bin to avoid dust falling into the media and carbon belt.

3.3 Avoid corrosive substances contacting the print head
Substances in contact with the print head may be erosive and cause corrosion when heated, resulting in damage to the protective film of the print head and damage to the print head. Direct finger contact with the printed element surface can cause contamination and reduce the life of the print head. Improper cleaning or use of an unapproved cleaner to clean the print head.
3.4 As often as possible to clean the accumulation of paper scraps
Paper scraps will attach to the roller on the outside of the ribbon or carbon belt, producing an effect similar to that of a grinding wheel, which will wear the ceramic protective film of the print head, resulting in damage to the print head! Clean the paper scraps accumulated on the printing head and roller in time. The paper is blown clean along the medium path and cleaned with non-woven cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers and peripheral parts.

3.5 Try to print the medium thickness within the allowable range
General bar code printer printing label media is no problem, but when printing tags, try to print tags with a thickness of less than 210 grams, the maximum tag should not exceed 250 grams, more than 250 grams of tag printing will have very large wear on the print head.
3.6 Use high quality carbon strips as far as possible
When the temperature of the print head increases for printing, dirt will accumulate on the hot spot of the print head of the bar code printer, which will block the heat transfer of the high-quality image lock required for printing. The dirt slowly accumulated will lead to low print quality. Such as weak printing chroma or partial printing failure (very poor quality carbon tape or even printing more than 10 labels need to be cleaned dirt). This accumulated dirt is difficult to remove with solvent-soaked cleaning swabs and is difficult to wipe off.
